Paramedic Professional Development Training
An opportunity for qualified paramedics to develop their clinical care through simulation-based training. This 8-hour course aims to review the technical and non-technical skills utilised in the care of critical patients. From there, participants will have the opportunity to apply them in realistic, high-fidelity scenarios. Participants will be guided by professional and experienced paramedics, who will provide real time feedback and in-depth post scenario debrief. This course is aimed at registered paramedics who are looking to improve their approach to critical patients.
Areas of review
- Assessment – Primary, secondary assessments
- Technical skills – Airway, breathing, trauma
- Non-technical skills – crew resource management, stress
- The cardiac arrest patient
- The agitated patient
- The critical trauma patient
- The poisoned patient
Scenarios
Scenarios will run for 10-20 minutes with a mixture of 2 or 3 person teams. Scenarios will be based on real cases and occur in realistic environments.
CPD
Participants will be provided with a certificate of attendance and learning summary at the completion of the course.
