Pre-enrolment
Prior to enrolling into a course, please read through all policies, procedures and the Student Handbook linked in the footer of the page so that you are aware of your rights, responsibilities and obligations.
Course Delivery
The combined first aid and CPR course is offered under a blended delivery. Upon enrolling into the course, you will be given access to the online student platform where you will learn the knowledge required to perform CPR and provide first aid, as well as complete online assessment items. Online assessments must be completed prior to attending the practical component of your course.
The date of your course is the date in which you will be required to attend our High Fidelity Training and Simulation Centre to complete the practical component of the course. You will be required to attend up to 5 hours at the centre.
Upon satisfactorily completing both units of competency (HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and HLTAID011 Provide first aid) you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment.
Entry Requirements
It is important to note that the HLTAID competency standards do require a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. It is a requirement that you are physically capable of performing ‘actual’ resuscitation performed on a manikin placed on the floor.
