HLT21020 - Certificate II in Medical Service First Response (Brisbane)
The Emergency Australia HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response, is an intensive practical course, enabling course graduates entry into a wide range of first responder roles.
During this intensive week, students are trained and assessed using the SIMMAN 3G at the Emergency Australia High Fidelity Training & Simulation Centre in Brisbane.

This course has been designed by former military and emergency response personnel, to equip students with the clinical skills and knowledge, to perform first response roles in a range of sectors.
In order prepare students for real world emergencies, we have made this course hands on and scenario intensive with a focus on both urban and remote settings. As an Emergency Australia student, you will be immersed in scenarios using high fidelity manikins and skills stations to build your confidence and capability as a first responder.
Units of study:
During this course students will undertake 5 core units and 4 electives consisting of:
Core:
CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
HLTAID011 Provide first aid
HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care
HLTWHS006 Manage personal stressors in the work environment
Electives:
HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems
BSBMED301 Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately
HLTAID014 Provide advanced first aid
HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy*
* Note that in order to complete HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy, you must first achieve competency in HLTAID011 Provide first aid.
